TRENT CONNECTION is often asked the following

questions before being booked, I hope they are useful to you.

Are you reliable?

Yes. We have been performing regularly for over 16 years and never missed or been late for a gig.

We understand that you will be entrusting us with a very important occasion. I assure you we will do our best to repay your confidence.

Do I have to deal with your Agent or Manager?

No, you deal exclusively with the band leader, Neil Marriott,  who will meet with you, answer your E-mails, talk to you on the telephone and be there at the performance singing in front of the band.

E-mail Neil Marriott

How long do you play for?

Events do vary, but we usually play 3 x 45 minute sets.

All the playing should usually be within a 4 hour period and we assume we will be setting up immediately prior to playing.

We can be flexible on the evening if other parts of your day overrun but we charge extra for playing after midnight or setting up earlier in the day.

Are you available on the date we want?

We have bookings in our diary over a year ahead. Please E-mail to enquire about your date.

Will you fit into our venue?

We are a big band, up to 18 players, so we do take up quite a lot of space. Please talk to us about this and if practically possible we will visit the venue with you to discuss possibilities.

We do cut the band down to fit into smaller venues. 9 players is usually the minimum required to retain our 'sound'.

Is your fee less if we book fewer players?

No.

How far do you travel?

We are based in Nottingham and have travelled as far as South London, North Yorkshire, Scotland and South Wales. However we can only travel long distances on a Saturday and if  we consider it too far to drive we would have to hire a coach which substantially increases our fee.

Is your fee inclusive?

Yes

Will you be too loud?

We are essentially an acoustic band that uses microphones to reinforce vocals and solos. However 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, 5 Saxes and a Drum kit are quite loud on their own.

But when we play alternate sets with a Disco it is always a lot louder than we are.

What do you play as 'First Dances' at weddings?

We have been asked to play many different songs for 'First Dances' according to the clients taste. Here are a few we have played:

  • Moon River

  • Can't Take My Eyes Off You

  • Thank You - Dido

  • Fly Me To The Moon

  • We've Only Just Begun

  • I've Got You Under My Skin

  • That Old Devil Called Love

  • Love Is All Around

  • We Have All the Time in the World

  • Nobody Does It Better

  • Perfect Day

What happens when you are not playing?

We can't play for more than about 45/50 minutes without at least a 20 minute break.

During our breaks we can supply recorded music.

This can be anything from quiet Background Music, Jazz, Easy Listening, Classical, Pop through to a Full Disco.

For this we use a Laptop with some 3000 Tracks running the sophisticated 'Ots DJ' software:

   Powered by OtsDJ

We can chose the music 'on the fly' and take requests or, if you give me at least 3 weeks notice, I will create a playlist according to your specific instructions.

At the moment we offer this as a

FREE SERVICE!

Do you require food and drink?

We enjoy eating and drinking and it keeps us going.

If we are playing from say 8 to 12 it means we probably left home at 5.30 and will not be back home until 2am which is a long time without food.

How much electrical power do you need?

We can play if you supply us with one 13amp socket within easy reach. However if you can supply 2 independent 13 amp sockets we can use our stage lighting which is preferable.

Is your electrical equipment safe?

Yes. All our electrical equipment is regularly inspected in accordance with the latest edition of IEE Wiring Regulations as specified by The Health and Safety Executive.

Do you have 'Public Liability Insurance?

Yes. We carry Public Liability Insurance - Limit of Indemnity £5,000,000. Click here to view our certificate of insurance.

Do you need a dressing room?

It would be very nice but we know it is not always possible. We do need somewhere to stash instrument cases and such while we are playing.

Can I have a booking form?

Yes. Download one here.

Do you need a deposit?

Yes. Before we can consider your enquiry as a firm booking we need a completed booking form and a deposit of £200.

Do you play for 'Charity Functions'?
