Trent Connection - The Dance Band

TRENT Connection - The Dance Band has been established for sixteen years. The band was originally set up by a group of music students including current Manager, Neil Marriott. “The band formed as a result of us playing at each other’s weddings,” explains Neil.

Based in Nottinghamshire, Trent Connection consists of fourteen musicians and two vocalists, and plays a wide range of music, from 40s and 50s Swing to current Pop hits.

“We consult fully with our clients before any performance,” explains Neil “to ensure that we can meet their requirements. The music is tailored to the occasion and we will change the set to suit the audience reaction.”

Trent Connection is in demand for many occasions including weddings, parties, balls, dinner dances and corporate functions.

“We are asked to play at many weddings, because we offer such a variety of music, but whatever the occasion we are always present a smart and professional appearance.”

“We create an atmosphere of professional sophistication and nostalgia when we play classic swing, mixed with the fun and energy of Rock and Pop.”

As well as tailoring the music, the size of the band can be reduced to nine or ten members, if the venue dictates a smaller group.

“As a band, we are completely self-contained and are fully equipped with microphones, amplifiers and lights. Our clients only need to supply us with a space, chairs and a power point.”

Trent Connection usually plays three 45-minute sets, choosing from a huge repertoire of songs. The band will also supply a CD player to provide music during their breaks.

The band has played at several charity fundraising events in support of Dr. Barnardo’s, When You Wish Upon A Star and the YMCA

Trent Connection’s fee is usually £800 (Current September 2003) for a local function ending before midnight.
